A post on the Vintage Mustang Forum has set the automotive world ablaze. The entry on the forum posted photos of a1968 fastback in mid restoration. Fede Garza a member from Mexico on the forum posted a series of photos and included was the VIN on the door tag and the VIN plate. A VIN that happens to match the second Mustang used in Bullitt. This car by all accounts was supposed to be crushed due to the extensive damage it received while filming the jump and final chase scene sequnces where the Charger meets its fiery fate.
Reportedly the car has been in Mexico for over 30 years. Kevin Marti has deemed this car the real and true car that was used in the movie Bullitt as the jump car. This could potentially be worth millions and possibly 10s of millions. To read Federico Garza's story and see his photos of the car head over to our 1968 movie car page. Vintage Mustang Forum
