HPG at the 2019 Bullitt Reveal

3/9/2018

HoonDog Performance Group was fortunate to be invited to the press release of the 2019 Mustang Bullitt in Detroit on January 14th. Bill Ford and James Hackett, CEO of Ford were in attendance for the unveiling of not only the Bullitt but the new Edge ST and the new Ranger pickup.

The unveiling began with a short video recreating the Bullitt chase scene in a parking garage. The 2019 Bullitt was driven by who we would soon find out was Molly McQueen competing with a black Charger for the last remaining parking spot.

As the video ended the 2019 Bullitt drove onto the stage and out jumped Molly McQueen, granddaughter of Steve McQueen, to introduce the car. Goosebumps was the word of the day as the car had an immediate effect on us all.

Ford had more surprises in store. Molly introduced another short video featuring  Sean Kiernan the owner of the 1968 Mustang used in the movie Bullitt and herself. The car was revealed on the screen and then starting up in the room it drove through the assembled press onto the stage. Yet another goosebump moment. A car that had been out of sight for many years and considered the holy grail of Mustangs was now out in the open for the automotive world to see.

What a weekend. Thank you to our friends at Ford and specifically the Mustang program for allowing to be a part of Bullitt history.
